Anelga Asaturian was born in Tehran, Iran. Even in early childhood her passion for the arts was such that her parents enrolled their daughter in painting classes when she was just seven years old. During her elementary to middle school years Anelga participated in various international art competitions, both in Japan and Canada, where her works earned awards four years in a row. This intense love of art inspired Anelga to pursue a career in the creative field and in 2001 she received her diploma from one of the best private art schools in Tehran. A year later she successfully gained entrance into the bachelor degree program for graphic design at the University of Art on full scholarship. Eager to put her knowledge to use Anelga worked part-time in graphic design with the intent to gain real-world work experience. This was further aided by talented professors who inspired her to branch out and developed her own artistic techniques. She is well versed in various art media, in particular the use of acrylic which she’s adopted as her primary method. Anelga’s works are full of color, harmony and detail with subject matter ranging from realism to worlds of fantasy. She brought these vivid sensibilities to her professional work designing children’s book covers for publishers in her homeland. Even with all this Anelga still found time to participate in various art shows and competitions allowing her so showcase her talent to the greater public. 2007 found Anelga working on her thesis project while also illustrating a children’s book comprised of stories from the Old Testament. The following year she had her first solo exhibition showcasing multiple painting as well as a hand made book. In May of 2008 Anelga graduated from the University of Art and moved to the United States where she received her Certificate of Advanced Web Design from UCLA Extension in 2012. Currently she is living out her goals working as a graphic designer and illustrator.
